Meet the Bookkeeper
Hey! I’m Macy, my pronouns are they/them, and I’m excited to help you get to know me a little more.
I grew up in California and moved to Washington state in 2016 after marrying my wife, Nikki, who was stationed at JBLM at the time. My long-term partner, Cruz, moved in around 2022 and we have 1 dog, Pierogi (pictured), and 4 cats: Doom, Dingus, Cheese, and Taly. I also spend up to 6 months a year as a digital nomad in Alberta, Canada where my fiancé, Joey, lives with our other 3 dogs: Gryffin, Elena, and Mazikeen.
I have spent the majority of my professional life working in bookkeeping, accounting, and administrative support. Before moving to Washington, I worked in property management handling much of the accounting for multi-tenant commercial properties. After moving to Washington, I took on the daily operations as the sole employee for an e-commerce website. I wore many hats in this role including invoicing, management of accounts payable and accounts receivable, training, and policy writing. I enjoy bringing order to chaos, paying meticulous attention to every detail, and lightening the load of the people I work with.
In my personal life, I enjoy creating in all forms, connecting with people, and spending time in nature. My lifelong special interest is cooking and I can nerd out about food for hours. I am queer, polyamorous, disabled, and neurodivergent. I invest resources into direct action, harm reduction, community support, and expansive community building. I strive to center the voices of people with lived experiences to meaningfully support the liberation and success of those who have been marginalized. I stand for LGBTQIA2S+ and gender equity, rights and dignity for people with disabilities, racial justice, a free Palestine, getting ICE out of our communities, housing and healthcare as human rights, and the LANDBACK movement.
